Project Description

Cancer Registry

Culminating from a three year educational, clinical and scientific
collaboration among RoMMeF, the University Of Cape Coast School Of Medical
Sciences, and the Central Regional Hospital (now Cape Coast Teaching Hospital,
CCTH) towards ensuring access to enhanced quality of life for childhood cancer
patients and their traumatized families, RoMMeF and CCTH consented in
partnership to establish a Cancer Registry Centre, for improved capture of data on
cancer cases and/or incidences in the Cape Coast Metropolis and its environs and
beyond to proximate regions of Ghana.

The overarching object of the registry, which will expand to become a National
Cancer Registry, is “to contribute to CCTH’s provision of comprehensive treatment
of patients with varied forms of cancer and/with improved survival rate.
The Cancer Registry Centre was duly commissioned in February 2019 and is
currently being operated by qualified personnel who are collecting data on
cancer cases.

In collaboration with the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH), ROMMEF has consented to establish another Cancer Registry at (HTH).
